What would happen if i dyed my hamster in a small area with non harsh hair dye?

I was just thinking it would be pretty cool to have a colourful hamster, I wasn't thinking turning it all one colour just small strips so it wasn't harsh on it. I would get pet dye if that would be any better, I know they have natural oils but would it be too much for a little thing like that to handle. I know it sounds cruel but Tetoo is very loving hamster i mean him no harm. I think it could go both ways though, it could damage his lungs and skin, or he could rock a ***** look and come out unharmed considering i tend to do it in the most gentle way
