If the Bible is so clear, then why do they have study Bibles?

I've made the claim in the past that the Bible is convoluted and is open to a vast number of interpretations with almost every line. The real from most is that the Bible is clear and easy. So if it is, why are there study Bibles? And why are there so many different interpretations out there and no one can agree which is correct?
