Do you need to watch Agatha Christie's "Poirot" in order?

Netflix has the dvds for rent, but the 50 minute and feature length episodes are separated. The 50 minute episodes start in the middle of series 2, and the first aired episode isn't until the third episode of disk 9. So is it important to watch them in air-order or is there no ongoing storylines that would be mixed up by viewing them in DVD order?
